WHCSA is coming to an end! All of the spring sports including baseball, softball, t-ball, and volleyball all had great seasons. Many thanks to all the parent volunteer coaches and team moms who made the seasons possible! Baseball, softball, and t-ball had 10 teams and have had a good season with no rain outs throughout the season. Baseball’s last game will be on May 21. There were seven volleyball teams, and their last game will also be played on May 21. We hope they will end their great seasons with a great win!

Although school is coming to an end, P.E. is still going strong! In this past fourth quarter, the students participated in softball, hockey, and ultimate frisbee. Through softball, the students in grades third through seventh improved their batting, fielding skills, and worked on different strategies. Hockey also went well while the students learned how to dribble, shoot, and be a goalie. In the ultimate frisbee unit, the students worked on throwing and catching a frisbee.
The second graders previewed the units that the older students did because they will be participating in the units next year. Also younger grades, Kindergarten through second grade, did cup stacking and also played Pirates. Through cup stacking, these students worked on their hand-eye coordination. Lastly, they worked on throwing, catching, hand-eye coordination, and manipulatives—things that help students with cognitive abilities. P.E. had a great year full of many fun activities!

The Softball Team had an outstanding season with a district record of 11-4, winning 11 games and losing 4. Coach Woods and Mrs. Hewitt were the coaches that helped the softball girls with the fundamentals and basics of softball. The girls made it to the playoffs this year losing in the first round. At the end of the year, they had a fun practice to end off the year. They had popsicles, and they had a water balloon fight. Overall, the girl had a great season, and they can’t wait until next year!

The track team had a great season this year! They had a new coach, Coach Mason, and they went to many different track meets, including the preliminaries and the championships at Strake Jesuit. Most of the track meets were at Barnett Stadium, and the whole track team did very well in each event in which they participated. At every track meet, the team received multiple medals, and that did not stop at the preliminaries or the championship. SJPII had 28 athletes compete on April 30, at the championship. The girls’ placed second and boys' team placed sixth. SJPII had 15 medals come home to SJPII.
Great job to our track team this season!
