Successful Sports By Olivia Babasick Editor in Chief, SJPII Times Online
The WHCSA athletes finished the year strong! Volleyball, baseball, softball, and T-ball were all played during the fourth quarter. The first games started on March 25, and the last games were played on May 20.
For volleyball through the Chapelwood Volleyball league, there were six teams with 55 girls signed up in grades four through eight. There were 90 Pre-K through fifth graders that participated in baseball, T-ball, and softball, and there were nine total teams. Our athletes have all had amazing seasons to end the year!
Home Stretch By Emily Colgan Managing Editor
The Physical Education department was in the home stretch for the end of the school year. The units for the fourth quarter were
Ultimate Frisbee, indoor hockey, and lacrosse. Because of the rainy season, they had backup mini games to play inside and stay dry. The older students learned how to lose and win with dignity and good sportsmanship. The younger students learned how to cooperate with their teammates and use teamwork.
For the end of the year, in P.E., the students played summer themed games and had lots of fun! The coaches also helped organize the giant obstacle course outside on the field for Fun in the Sun.
Overall, the P.E. coaches and students had a great year and ended with a bang!
