The Cross Country team has had a great season. Fifth to eighth grade students enjoyed improving their running skills. At their meets they ran anywhere from one to three miles, depending on their grade. Since Cross Country is different than other sports, there were no district meets, but instead at every race, the top 10 runners in each division get a medal and the top team gets a plaque. The students have run in meets such as the Concordia, Faith West, and St. Agnes meets. Recently runners Erick Lara and Daniela Esqueda have placed in many meets. Congratulations to all the runners and Coach Colgan for a great season!

All three of our SJPII volleyball teams are having a great season! So far, the sixth grade team has an outstanding record of 5-3-1. They’ve been doing a great job! Out of eight games, the JV team has a record of 7-2. The Varsity team has been working very hard with a record of 5-4. Our SJPII Varsity team will be going to playoffs during the week of October 19. Unfortunately, the volleyball season is coming to an end with only two games left. Congratulations to all of our volleyball teams for playing very well this season!

Shooting for the Playoffs

The Varsity soccer team had a great start with their nine wins and two loss record. The JV team also had a great start with a 6-0 record. The soccer teams have been putting in extra work for the tough games that they will be having against the past championship winners St. Frances De Sales and St. Anne's, our rival. Both teams have done a great job and the Varsity team looks forward to making it to the playoffs and, hopefully, winning in the playoffs with a little extra hard work.
Kicking Off The Season

The WHCSA soccer season has commenced with 225 students signed up to participate. These students are encompassed into 22 teams. The WHCSA doesn’t have any developments but grows gradually over the years. Mrs. Gordon, athletic director of the WHCSA, hopes that the students learn to love the sport and develop in experience.
The practices are successfully progressing and there have been no rain-outs. The practices are on week days and games on Saturdays. The WHCSA hopes the kids obtain the skills of teamwork and learning.
The SJPII football team has faced some tough competition but is headed to the playoffs.
First and Goal

The football team had an amazing start to the year. The boys practiced before the school year had begun, and their practicing paid off. At their practices they worked on conditioning, worked on plays, and especially learned to work as a team. Coach Hertlien is the main coach, with other help from assistant coaches. The team had an overall record of 4-2-1 and a district record of 3-1. They are in second place in the district and have advanced to the playoffs. Their first playoff game is against St. Vincent de Paul, October 17. Good luck, and keep up the good work, boys!
