The middle school JV and Varsity soccer teams have had amazing seasons and are well prepared for playoffs so far. The JV team has an undefeated record of 5-0, and Varsity has a record of 7-0-1. After each game, Coach Ade always reminds the players to thank God, no matter the outcome of the game. In practice, the two teams work on a variety of skills, strengthen their teambuilding, and go over what they could improve on based on the games. Coach Hewett says that the team has so far exceeded her expectations and that both teams are very humble and have great sportsmanship after a win. We hope that the Saints will continue their triumphs during playoffs!

The cross country team has really been in swing this season. Practice three times a week in the heat consists of warm ups, stretching, and various drills. Not only have the runners improved with their form, but their times have improved during the past few months. With eight meets so far and two remaining, the cross country team has been flourishing quickly, with many great performances from the different athletes. These tough fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight graders under Coach Nabor's leadership are ready to rock at championships.
The cross country team has had a very successful season so far!
Always Hustling

The football team has had rebuilding season this year. The team practiced very hard throughout the season and played their hearts out during the games. They gave it all they got and never quit. Unfortunately, the team went 0-9 for the season, but the team learned a lot and improved throughout the year. They always persevered and learned more about brotherhood and created great friendships throughout the season. Coach Hertlein and the team are anxious to put all they learned this year to good use in the season next year. Good luck, Saints!
Let’s Get Physical
By Emily Colgan Managing Editor
Physical Education started off great in the first quarter! The younger students worked on following directions, self-control, and throwing skills. They learned the rules and skills of basketball, soccer, and spikeball. The older students are worked on dribbling for soccer and basketball, spiking for spike ball, and shooting goals in soccer and basketball. Through the units, the students will be learning basic skills, building to full games, and teamwork. There are new tournaments for the units starting this year. There are also new fitness challenges for the students to achieve this year. Thanks to Coaches Hertlein, Woods and Hewitt, the students are improving their skills daily.

All three of our StJPII volleyball teams approached an end to their great season with just a few games left. The sixth grade team has won one game, lost one game, and tied six games. JV has had a season record of 5-3. So far, our varsity volleyball team won three games and lost six games. Hopefully they will be off to playoffs soon. The Lady Saints worked on many skills during the season such as passing to target, hitting, and serving consistently. So far they have had a good season and hope to finish it strong!
WHCSA All the Way
By Ashley Bowring Sports Editor
The WHCSA soccer season was in full swing! The fifth graders already had a big game last weekend with the two StJPII teams playing each other. They had an announcer and everything! It was a very exciting game. They were great sports while playing with and against their friends. During the season, all the athletes learned the fundamentals of the sport, sportsmanship, self-reliance, and teamwork. The young Saints have had great seasons so far. There are 20 teams in total, with 235 students playing. The soccer season this year started on September 24, and it continues until November 12. Congratulations to the teams and the parent volunteers that make WHCSA such a positive experience for our young athletes!
