St. John Paul II Kindergarten offers a curriculum that strives to reach every child. It is an integrated program that emphasizes kindness, working together, and lays the groundwork for future academic success. The Language Arts program includes Big Books, learning centers, guided reading, creation of class books and beginning writing activities. The Mathematics curriculum emphasizes counting, patterning, sorting, classifying, comparing and other concepts using a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities. Kindergarten students attend a Music and Movement class twice a week as well as Spanish, Art, Computer and Library each week.
The primary years are a period of tremendous growth academically and developmentally. Kindergartners are active and enthusiastic learners constantly exploring their environment.
We, as their teachers look forward to being the facilitators that provide a positive and nurturing environment for their curious intellects to reach their God-given potential.
